Thomas V. Nowak, M.D.

Dr. Nowak is a native of Buffalo, New York. He obtained his B.A. in English from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. He attended the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he obtained his M.D. He completed his residency at Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals, also in Milwaukee. He completed his fellowship in in the Internal Medicine Department, Gastroenterology/Hepatology Division, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. He was an assistant professor of medicine at the University of Rochester (New York) from 1981-1986 and assistant professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin from July 1986 through January 1987. He went on to be an associate professor of medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin from February 1987 to August 1990. Dr. Nowak was an associate professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine from September 1990 to June 1995 and a professor of medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine from July 1, 1995 to June 1998. He joined the doctors of Central Indiana Gastroenterology Group in July 1997. Dr. Nowak is board certified by the American College of Internal Medicine in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He has been on the staff at Community Hospital and St. John's Health System since joining the CIGG staff in 1997. He is also on the staff at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo and St. Vincent's Health in Indianapolis. Dr. Nowak also serves as the Physician Director of the Digestive Disease Center at St. John's Center.

Dr. Nowak is married and has three grown children.
